Her birth date is March 29, 1985, in Roswell, New Mexico. Her full name was Gerina Mendoza. Gerina Stevenson, the Mexican child from Rita Stevenson Stevenson and Alan Stevenson Stevenson, was birthed in Mexico. She is Mexican heritage, but is American as a national. Her lifelong passion for sports has made her an avid sportsperson. Gerina began golfing when she was fifteen years old. Gerina played at Goddard High School. While she was in high school, she won the New Mexico state golf tournament. Apart from playing volleyball, she also competed at state-level. She joined Texas's University of Texas, Texas in 2003. During her senior years she took home every single tournament she entered. Through her time at UTEP, she received the honor of being named Conference USA individual champion player for the season and UTEP Female Athlete Of The Year.
