April Lockhart
April Lockhart (born July 4 April, 1995) started her journey in music in the 7th grade in which she began guitar and piano lessons. In the seventh grade April started taking guitar and piano lessons. It sparked her interest in songwriting. At the age of 14, April devoted a great deal of time in writing song ideas and practicing her music. The songwriting began along with her dad in NY and LA shortly after. April was the month that she began to write about other issues in her book Take My Hand to help those of her peers who struggled with disabilities, peer pressure or suicide. Lockhart is an influencer in the beauty and lifestyle industry with a growing fan base. She works with popular brand Ilia with whom she has a partnership as well as being an expert in the field of lifestyle. Born without a left hand, the woman is a major part of herself. It's however not the only thing she has to tell. Lockhart's Instagram profile doesn't cover up her disability, but it does not concentrate solely on her disability. The profile is a statement. that we are all a part of a multitude and that we are all unique and we're greater than the physical person we are. I do not want this to define me I don't want to be a disability influencer where it's the only thing I talk about because there are other aspects to my life. Lockhart speaks via video from her residence in Nashville. My daily life isn't dependent on it. I lead a normal day-to-day life and discover my own solutions to problems. Since it's a part of who I am It's a topic worth talking about. Lockhart is a great example of how to stay going with self-acceptance. Lockhart admits to having been through times when she was uncomfortable the way she dressed and exposed her arms. She can wear whatever she likes, and happily shares pictures of her wearing these clothes. To her, self-love was always a lengthy journey. It's the same for everybody regardless of the level of insecurity. It's important to be around individuals who truly understand the person you are.
