Jenna Fischer is best known for her character Pam Beesly on the acclaimed television series The Office For her role, she was awarded an Emmy nomination for Best Supporting Actress as well as Two SAG Awards for Outstanding Performance from the Ensemble Comedy.
Her birthplace and childhood was in Fort Wayne in Indiana. Jenna was awed by her mother, Anne, perform in the church when she was a child, which instilled a love of performing and theater.
Fischer was a stage actress who was trained in her home country. Off-Broadway's production of Reasons to be Happy was directed and written by Neil LaBute, with Josh Hamilton, Leslie Bibb and Fred Weller. Then she starred in Steve Martin's Meteor Shower - an absurdist play starring Greg Germann with Josh Stamberg - for the Old Globe Theatre's debut world premiere.
The Office co-star Angela Kinsey and Fischer created Office Ladies, a podcast that airs on Earwolf in October 2019. The show has been an enormous success, making its Top Ten worldwide every week with more than 200 million downloads in its initial two years. Office Ladies took home the iHeart Radio Podcast of the Years award in January of 2021.
She is the writer of two books. The Actor's Life The Actor's Life: A Survival Guide, in which she details her journey from St. Louis to Hollywood and her journey to becoming a successful actor. She is also the author of Office BFF's: Tales of The Office From Two of the Best Friends who were there (co-authored with Angela Kinsey) This book provides a memoir of their best friendship as well as their work for The Office.
